mark venaglia: Reimagined
A digital portfolio and tour booking platform for NY residents and visitors
Challenge
Mark’s original site relied on an outdated gallery format that felt cluttered, static, and difficult to navigate.
It lacked visual hierarchy and offered no clear paths for action, making it hard for visitors to book tours, purchase or inquire about artwork, and learn who Mark is as an artist, guide, and lifelong New Yorker.

Solution
The solution was to create a modern, intuitive website that captured both Mark’s artistry and his role as a cultural guide.
My goal was to design a platform that balanced visual storytelling with functional clarity. It should be effortless for visitors to book tours, purchase artwork, or simply learn more about Mark.
Book Tours + Purchase Art + Meet the artist
Homepage
Designed for clarity with two immediate paths: Book a Tour or Explore Portfolio, mirroring Mark’s core goals. This gets visitors to the right place without confusion.
Book Tours
I introduced a structured overview of tour highlights and added a photo of Mark to humanize the experience. I designed tour cards that show the name, image, and duration. Selecting a card triggers a modal with full details (description, location, price, timezone). Finally, I implemented step-by-step booking flow: select a time, add guests, input details, confirm payment, and receive an email confirmation.
Portfolio
To keep the portfolio organized and easy to navigate, I designed two tabs: Available Inventory and Commissions. I added badge filters so users can quickly narrow results to what interests them most. Each artwork card reveals details on hover—such as title, size, medium, price, and description—so users can explore pieces without clutter. When a piece sparks interest, the direct inquiry CTA connects them to Mark to purchase or commission work seamlessly.
Corporate solutions
This page was tailored for businesses looking for team-building or client entertainment. I created a clear path to schedule a 30-minute Google Meet consultation with Mark, so potential corporate clients can easily explore customized event opportunities.
Meet Mark
To showcase Mark’s depth and credibility, I designed a narrative-driven page that shares his story as an artist and lifelong New Yorker. Alongside the storytelling, CTAs encourage users to view his resume or commission artwork, strengthening both trust and opportunity for engagement.
Contact Mark
The contact page was kept simple and direct to remove barriers to communication, ensuring visitors could easily reach out for tours, artwork inquiries, or general questions.
The redesigned site transformed Mark’s online presence into a polished, professional platform that:
Put clarity first
Guiding users directly into booking tours or exploring artwork. Clean layouts and hover details let the paintings shine without distraction. A modern, card-to-modal flow reduced friction and made confirming tours intuitive.
eXPANDED OPPORTUNITIES
The corporate page and commission options helped Mark reach new audiences beyond individual art buyers.
hUMANIZED THE EXPERIENCE
Photos of Mark, his story, and testimonials gave visitors personal connection points.
The final design not only modernized Mark’s digital presence but also captured his passion for New York, his artistry, and his expertise as a guide.
